IEP Toolkit Program

The IEP Toolkit program will allow you to spend this school year feeling confident to advocate for your child and engage in a productive dialogue with your child's school team.

Over the course of a month, I will send you a daily email based on the week's theme, which will include links to resources, draft emails for you to adapt to your specific situation, templates for different formal communications, a neurodiversity affirming goal bank and answers to commonly asked questions.

You will also gain 1 month access to my Neurodiversity Affirming Parents Group's weekly office hour, where you can ask me questions about the week’s theme (or anything else that is on your mind). Office hours will be recorded so you can go back and watch if you are unable to join live.

The themes we will cover each week:

WEEK 1: Getting started in the IEP Process/opening up the lines of communication

WEEK 2: Unique Situations in the IEP process

WEEK 3: Negotiating challenges at the IEP table

WEEK 4: Goals and Accommodations

The IEP toolkit has been designed to be a digestible, actionable program at a reasonable price point, for busy parents. You will walk away from the month with the resources, links, and templates that you need to feel empowered to shift the trajectory of your child’s program.

I really hope that you will be able to join us and gain both the confidence and tools to ensure your child's IEP affirms who they are!

Frequently asked questions

What is the involvement needed?

One of the main reasons I designed this toolkit was to make sure there was something that busy, time pressured parents and caregivers could access without any additional pressure or overwhelm. The toolkit is sent out via email every week day for the month but you can also access all the content through the learning platform on my website. You have access to the content on there for 365 days. So even if you want to save all the resources for a later time that suits your timetable or lifestyle, you can. The office hour sessions are only available for the month that you sign up, but sessions are recorded if you are unable to join live.

Is it still useful/relevant if my learner doesn't already have an IEP or 504 plan?

Yes! I even provide a sample email that you can use to request an evaluation. The program will help ensure that you have a good foundation of resources and knowledge whatever stage of the IEP journey you are at.

How does office hours work?

For the month that you are in the program, you get access to 4 of my neurodiversity affirming parents group regular weekly live office hours included. These sessions take place every Friday 9am PT on Zoom, but are recorded if you are unable to join live. You can use this space to ask me and the group direct questions, or share your experience. I think the real benefit is truly being in community with a group of parents that understand the journey and nuances of parenting a disabled child.

How do I get access to the Parents Group for the program?

You will receive a separate email with the link to join the Neurodiversity Affirming Parents Group for the month.

Why is the price so low, especially given the amount of resources provided?

I really care about accessibility and believe that knowledge is not something that should be gate kept. While I am passionate about the work that I do one to one, I know that price point is not accessible to many parents, and so this toolkit is an affordable option for people to access the knowledge, resources and support that they need.
