Meet your hosts...

Dr Destiny Huff, LPC

Dr Destiny Huff is a late-diagnosed Autistic and ADHD Licensed Professional Counselor and non-attorney special education advocate. She's also a proud mom to two neurodivergent learners with IEPs - so her work is both deeply personal and professional.

With over 15 years in the mental health field, Destiny has supported children and families across early childhood, K-12, and foster care settings. From counseling and case management to supervising programs for individuals with complex needs, she brings a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming lens to everything she does. Having worked alongside educators, coaches, and administrators, she understands exactly what neurodivergent students need to thrive - and what tools and trainers need to support them.

Through the Affirming Village podcast, Destiny shares lived experience, uplifts underrepresented voices, and sparks the change our systems so desperately need.

Meet your hosts...

Lisa Baskin Wright

Lisa began her teaching journey in 2000 as a high school math teacher, Upward Bound educator, and mentor to future teachers. Her passion? Helping educators find their voice, get curious about their students, and create classrooms that affirm every learner.

But Lisa's commitment to inclusive education isn't just professional - it's personal. As a mother to an autistic daughter, she's experienced the challenges of navigating the IEP process firsthand, including the painful decision to pursue legal action for appropriate support. That journey shaped her compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming approach to IEP coaching.

Now, she brings that same energy to the mic - supporting families, empowering educators and centering the lived experiences of neurodivergent kids.
