Hi! I'm Lisa Baskin Wright

I help parents of autistic kids 3-14 feel confident at the IEP table.

Would you like to feel heard in the IEP process?

Would you like to learn more about Neurodiversity-affirming goals?

Would you like to join a community of like minded parents, caregivers, and professionals advocating for their autistic kids?

Then welcome! I am so glad that you are here!

My mission

Being a parent to any child can be challenging.  Adding the layer of having to navigate complex systems (like education, healthcare, and insurance) can make it even more difficult.  My hope is to ease some of the stress, anxiety, and overwhelm parents experience when engaging their school districts in the IEP and 504 processes.

I understand both the parent and teacher perspectives and am ready to help you turn the "no's" at the IEP table to "yeses!".  I don't want any other parent to experience the difficulties my family had to face when trying to get my daughter appropriate support in school.

I've spent the last 7 years coaching new teachers and helping them get their most vulnerable students access to appropriate support and services.  I've also helped countless families do the same, and I can't wait to help you!

My approach

I take a collaborative approach that focuses on getting curious about your child and what kind of an environment they need to thrive. I am neurodiversity affirming and center the lived experience of your child.
In short, my approach is:
• Collaborative
• Neurodiversity-affirming
• Quality of life centered
• Learner-centered
• Accommodation (not compliance) focused

How I can help

Here are some testimonials from families I've worked with - you can read more on my testimonial page
"I originally didn't hire Lisa based on thinking that I needed to have someone who lived in my area and was familiar with my son's particular school and our state. So I went with someone else located in my area. That was definitely not the right choice for our family!
Hiring Lisa has been one of the only things that has helped me to understand everything I now know about the structure of an IEP and the meetings themselves. She has shown me through reviewing multiple different IEPs as well as helping draft and review letters to school staff, that there are ways to express gratitude while also explaining that enough isn't being done for my son. She has shown me how to advocate both professionally and with kindness, in what can be an overwhelming and sometimes daunting environment. I now understand more about how to have a good relationship with the school staff as well how to better advocate for my son. An IEP is not just about how he can be successful in this particular school, for this school year, but needs to be helping him be successful and thrive both now and in the future.  Lisa has helped me understand that."

Jen Rogers

"The IEP process is complicated and overwhelming. It felt like we were drinking from a water hose at first, but Lisa took the time to walk us through the process and answer all of our questions. She's incredibly intuitive, empathetic, and thoughtful. Although she never met our son, she really got to know him through us and his assessments. With that knowledge, she also helped us craft our IEP goals, which was tremendously helpful. It really honed in on his needs and the outcomes we wanted for him. Lisa is a constant friend and advocate through a difficult and stressful journey."
